Hello Peeps,
Neil here,
I have just bought a 1 year old jinlun jl50qt-4, wasn't a runner, so i adjusted the valves (thanks for the thread) and it runs like a dream
it has been scuffed a bit down the side but other than that it is in perfect condition.
the speedo doesn't move, so i need to check that out.
the brass screw had already been removed from the carb, and it already had an NGK C7HSA plug in there.
i am ordering malossi weights tomorrow from beedspeed.
it revs up to 6200 at the moment.
I have been driving for 10 years and drive truck and vans for my job, i recently done my cbt, on a geared 125, it's just that the scooter was the cheapest and easiest way to get on the road.
I only got it running on sunday so today was my first real outing with traffic, was scary as hell at first but by the time i hade done the lunchtime runs i was getting the hang of it and coming home at 6pm in the dark was a relative piece of cake.
i am just a bit wobbly now and again, and i am still unsure as to how much i can lean the bike when it is wet and cold on the roads.
I am quite happy with the acceleration, i would just like the top end to be a bit higher, and it definately sounds like it is underrevving, like it could give it a lot more.
i feel like it goes faster the longer i have it flat out, is that me
excellent site, it has helped me no end already, and without this site it would not be running now, and i would still be using a gallon a day in my escort going back and forth to work.
cheers peeps
