Hi, I have had a problem with my bike for a couple of weeks and now it is unbearable and I need to get it fixed. I can't make the bike go any faster than 5mph (No I am not exagerating ) and I didn't know what was wrong with it until today I got my uncle to have a look at it and he has discovered that the air filter is dripping with oil (or petrol?) ! He says I should get a new one but as to why it has gotten flooded with oil, he doesn't know and I just wondered wether any one can help me? First with why it is flooding, and second with where I can get a new one? I hope someone can help as I can't find anything about this bike anywhere, it is the BT125T-9. Does anybody know if the air filter is the same as in any other bikes? Thanks in advance, Paul.

I'm sure I've seen a similar post(a while back), not sure if it was a 50 or 125. Have a look around

Hi, It is just wet through and stinks, I thought after I had posted the message it would be petrol and not oil but I was't quite sure I hope it isn't a serious problem cos I don't have that much money to get it sorted out

Mine had some petrol in also a while back i think it was because the fuel mix was to rich look on this forum how do alter the fuel mixture screw and set it to 1 and 1/2 turns from out also open up the carb and make sure everything is as it should be use the derestriction guide to show you how it is ment to be make sure The small washer and clips on the carb pin ar all okay and the thin rubber around the yellow plastic with the hole in is not broken just under the carb cap it might also be you main jet is blocked see taishanowners.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=mechanical&action=display&thread=1136657880

Hi, Thanks for all your help guys, I will see what is what over the weekend. My bike has run in already, it has done about 1200Km I think but I thought 125's weren't restricted? Oh, and would just drying out the air filter work instead of buying a new one? We have re-adjusted the mixture screw to the correct setting so I will try drying out the air filter and see if it works "have u fallen off it or tipped it sideways? or even spilt petrol on the bike?" - No I have never fallen off it or droped it.

The air filter element is supposed to be semi-oily

I highly recommend you check your valve clearances, they may be too tight, this is a common low power, and poor reliability fault which is usually over looked

it sounds like your diaphram may have a hole in it. cos i had the same prob nt bein able to go no more than 5 mph so check it is this is what was wrong with my bike.

Hi all, I have discovered if I take the wet air filter out of the bike completely it runs great! I know it is risky with no air filter and obviously I am not going to just leave it out. It was just to see if that is what the problem is. It takes off a lot better with out the air filter in than it ever did! I nearly popped a wheelie just by doing what I normally do to accelerate from standing! So does this mean that it is just the air filter or just coincidence?

ermmm, id be tempted just to get a new airfilter, but its your choice, id probably have a quick check of the carb (diagphram and needle etc) just to feel a bit safer but if ti crops up againchuck it into your local dealers ally
