In James' third pic on page 1, I am looking at the nut just above where he has the feeler guage, right near the top of the valve.

Got it!, bought a better wrench & reefed on it. Adjustedintake back to .05mm exhuast was ok. Did not make a difference, still wont start, thinking CDI may be bad.

I'm a bit confused ... in several places are suggested to set valves to 0.08-0.12 when adjusting GY6 engine valve clearences. Also I read that enu06 has set his bike to 0.08. Is 0.05 too tight??? I have 125cc chinese GY6 clone and the manufacture recommend 0.05...what's your opinion?

It comes from the fact that some-where I picked up the 'official' Honda GY6 schedule on line, it states that surpisingly both valves are set the same, it suggests between 0.08-0.12mm. I set mine to 0,08mm as , although I hav'nt tried it, 0.12 seems too big. Having done this, my bike went far better, pick-up, mid-power & top speed all improved immediatley. Having done 3500kms (2200mls) now, I have serviced the bike several times and checked/re-set to 0.06 every time, and will continue to do so. As this argument has come up before its up to the individual what you do, but as my (and others) manual does not give service adjustment measurements, I had to go on what I could find at the time. I rest my case, your honour!

IN: 0.05mm (.00197in.) EX: 0.05mm (.00197 in.)
Hmm, who had set the valves like this and no problems for several weeks or so? I set mine to 0.05 (in) and 0.1 (ex), but I still hear the valves ticking. Is 0.1 mm too much?

set them to between 0.05 and 0.10
in other words a tight 0.10
slide feeler gauge 0.10 between gap tighten down so it is quite stiff/hard to pull out this should be 0.06 - 0.09
so minature you will never be able to get it more accurate then this
