Remove Entire Seat Part: Take rocker cover of the top of engine! Then u see the valves(1 at the top and 1 at the bottom. intake/exhaust): Whilst making sure piston is at tdc and both valves are closed, Then adjust the intake valve(top) to 0.05 like shown in the pic and the exhaust valve(bottom) to 0.10: This is the way Ive adjusted my valves, any constructive criticism is welcome

My manual says:
Valve gap checking and adjustment valve gap: IN: 0.05mm (.00197in.) EX: 0.05mm (.00197 in.)
Hypojam, where did you read to gap the exhaust at .1mm?

The manual does say that both valves are supposed to be set at 0.05! Some other guy a while back said that the exhaust valve should be set to 0.10 not 0.05 because the manual was wrong or something also generally the exhaust valve gap is bigger than the inlet valve gap on most vehicles. But to be quite honest I'm not sure! 0.10 works nicely for me but if you want to use 0.05 then go ahead! don't think theres much difference really.

Scoot valves are pretty easy just done my xtz ones today, what a job Tank off, fairing off,rad off,cam cover off, cams out then try to get correct size shims. No shims correct size available so have to adjust them with glass paper and micrometer. NIGHTMARE. #rofl#

Would it be possible for someone to explain what tdc means?
Thanx

TDC - Top Dead Center is when the piston is at the top position where a up stroke changes to a downstroke. It is when the piston is the closest to the sparkplug and has maximum compression.

I assume that the Jinlun is the same as the Baotian BT125 T9, in which case, I set mine to .05 (inlet and exhaust) and the engine is running better than before (they were both a little loose)
