I can definitely say that the problem is most likely the carburetor, if you are gonna tear something apart it should be that ;D

Look on the bright side, I paid £2500 for a Piaggio scoot that did exactly the same thing !!! It could be the engine valves have been wrongly set, or as in the case of the ill fated Piaggio, the carb is a dog.

what would you do i have insurance for it and i am going to register it on monday, do i send it back or what If it is that new (i.e you haven't even registered it yet) I'd take it straight back. I was thinking you'd owned the bike a while and it's started playing up but if you haven't even been on the road yet that's pretty poor. Give them a ring but if they're close just take it back.

what would you do i have insurance for it and i am going to register it on monday, do i send it back or what The best thing to do is to ring BikeMart, they will probably have had this problem before, and will know what best to advise. It would not hurt to check the battery/connections. Before I fitted my battery, I made a mess of filling the battery with the electrolyte, so one cell level was low, and another high. The scooter started, but then cut out, and wouldn't start again. I took the battery off, and adjusted the electrolyte in each cell to the same level, (I had to use a syringe that came with an inkjet refill kit to do this, using the depth of the needle into the electrolyte as a gauge, as there is no indication on the battery of what the actual electrolyte levels are). I then charged the battery for half an hour, and the actual voltage had then reached 13.8v. After I refitted the battery, I noticed that the leads could become loose when placing it in the battery holder, so I retightened the battery leads after it was in situ. The scooter started more or less straight away after doing this, so I am pretty sure it was the battery/connections that caused my initial problems. I am not sure if this will help in your circumstance, but it is worth a try, if not, it might help someone else who has had trouble with filling the battery etc. but the electronics need a good voltage supply to provide the spark for the spark plug. Let us know if you cure the problem, and how you cured it. The more information we can gather about these problems the better.
