There shouldn't be as everything he'd have written will be in the public domain. It's only if he scanned a Haynes manual that there'd be a copyright problem.

hi i have a simlare problem wiv my girl friends Taishan it starts and runs but there is a realy horrible tapping noise like the pistion hitting the valves or something does any body know where i can buy parts from as the local dealer has closed him business down in my loacal town or do i have to buy the hole engine can someone out there help me

Its most likely a really loose valve gap

i checked the valve gaps but in my experence a lose valve gap is a small tapping sound like the ford fiesta's have but this is more of a nock than a tap im thinking of just changing the engine to have problems over and done with but ive only ever seen 2 other taishan's before. how long is the manafactures warranty it a 04 plate and where is a dealer i can clame warranty from?

Manufacturers warranty? There's no such thing with these Chinese scooters. All you can hope for is that if you bought it from a dealer they might help you out. If you look in the Links section there's the address for the official Taishan site which lists all UK dealers but how many of them still exist is another matter.
