Dear All I followed Billy & Ginger's deristrict guides for the carburettor, but found there were no washers on the end of the needle, just a plain needle held in place by a white plastic piece on the top of it. I took the brass screw off from under the cover as I thought that would still be correct. It now seems to have a little more power on the hills. I replaced it as I found it, but noticed on the exploded diagram, on the link to the manual part one chapter 5 ,that the white thing is shown under the top of the needle. I thought I must have made a mistake, so re assembled it as shown, but it would not tick over when cold, and there seemed to be some slow spots. I put it back with the white thing on top and all is well again. What did I do wrong?

this is an error in lot of manuals you have done the job in the right way this plastic part never never go under the needle because it's the retainer to avoid the needle going up and messing with the spring

i was thinking the plastic acted as a weight & stop the needle comming out hole
yeah it goes on top how would it fit under i dont get it
the rubber washer sometimes stays/sticks to the plastic hole where the needle passes it was probably there if not on needle
