indexing = making sure the plug is facing the correct way when screwed into place many people say this does not matter but as are scoots only got 1 crappy plug might be worth while to do this I do this, don't know if it makes any difference but I do it anyway. This is what it looks like to have the plug 'facing the correct way' It just means the electrode is at the top of the combustion chamber and the spark is not impeded.

I'm really glad that tip helped, my daughters scooter is also transformed, not sure about this setting the gap business, I just unpacked the plug and fitted it The NGK plug I purchased from Halfords, (£2.99) came pre-set to the correct setting for these scoots.

yeah but id be very suprised if it was preset to the exact spec of the scooter? and its 2006 now lol i dont understand all that inches and quarter stuff lol ally In ye olden days, we used a hacksaw blade, (not junior), to set the spark plug gap, as the blade was twenty five thousandths of an inch thick, and suited most applications. If I remember correctly, most plugs were set to that gap from new, so it seems the manufacturers of the plugs do pre set them using common settings, but they should always be checked before fitting, just to be sure.

Does anyone know if the NGK C7HSA spark plug fits the Benzhou 50cc scooters? Specifically the YiYing 50QT scooter.

I'll have to have a looky. Not sure how I am going to correlate the engine number with a similar model, but again I guess it looks very similar to a lot of generic (i.e. less well known than Taishan/Baotian) scoots out there. Thanks for the tip - I think I will get the plug anyway and give it a go later - at less than a fiver, its a gamble worth making
