Good for you for wearing proper protective gear! Not many riders do.

difference is i must of listened as im still here and only just think im expierienced enough for a bigger bike now after 6 years on the road and a few more on motorcross tracks Yeah right of course you listened. Keep telling yourself that, and that you always ate your greens even when your parents weren't around, and never drank excessive amounts of alcohol or kissed a girl using tongues till you were engaged. More likely you were:- a. Pretty sussed enough anyway, and / or ... b. Lucky If you actually listened you were and are one of a very very rare breed with a distinct liking for writing down numbers of steam engines (although even the trainspotters I know defy their Mums and stand far too close to the track). I will be like it with my kids if I ever have any, I'm damned sure of it. This is a big "if" for someone who once got a written job appraisal saying "I would hesitate to breed from this female". ;D

i must have good sense then but yes i do take risks but i like to think i can judge things at 90 mile an hour better then someone that is 17 due to expirence
good luck if you (he)thinks he is ready after 6 months on the road for a big bike but it will end in tears or worse

I've fallen off every bike I ever owned. (Except the sidecar outfit and the Baron, but watch this space!) I haven't learned a bloody thing! I'll still keep riding though! ;D

It doesn't actually matter what I think about whether he is ready, nor does it matter what you think, nor any other giverof-good-advice. He is 17. He will hear, he will nod affermatively then go off and do whatever he wants to anyway. That is my point.

It is difficult to get insurance over here on anything bigger than a 50cc until you're 23 and in some cases 27. I know this has really peed off lplatewarrior, but please m8, my original comment was not a personal attack on you. it was an general observation and concern on the stupidity of the UK driving laws. But saying that, they don't come more stupid than those in Spain
