There seems to be a rash of stolen scooters around here, Ive been pulled over three times in the last month just to check my vin# and now theres one more out there- this was copied and pasted from a PM I sent: (As well as to be expected I guess other than the fact that some a**h*le stole my 4-stroke last weekend off of me front porch. Okay, though because now I can look into getting one that is not a "beater" and has an alarm. Thanks for checkin' though. they better not drive it on this side of town, unless one wants to get clobbered and flogged.

We dont seem to have that kind of problem here.(yet) But with the scooter population growing by leaps & bounds I sure it wont be long.

well being that registration and insurance are not required here there is really no way to track a scoot's vin unless you have the purchase reciept, or decided to register it anyway. Also since the scoot I had was given to me as a basketcase it may well have been hot to begin with.??

No registration?? No wonder they have theft problems! Here scooters have to be registered & some municipalities require an additional local registration.
