I think I was lucky getting a helmet off ebay that fitted first time - it is brand new by the way.

I don't want to be a fly in the ointment but I would be very wary about buying a helmet from e-bay. I'm assuming you are looking at new ones, never buy second-hand as you have no way of telling what has happened to it. To be honest I wouldn't buy new either as just like clothes no two sizes or fits are ever exactly the same. It is extremely important you get a helmet that fits your head properly and you feel comfortable with. I would strongly recommend that you bite the bullet on this one and go to a proper motorcycle equipment shop. Very good advice. I had previously measured my head, and it was 58cm, which is usually described as medium. When I went to the local motorbike accessory shop, they used a special tape measure, and pronounced that I was large If I had ordered from Ebay, I would have ordered a medium, so it would have probably been too small. I picked a helmet up for £50, it is an IXS make, it looks the part and is comfortable, so no complaints. I also picked up a tax disc holder, and had the usual problem of where to fit it. I went for one of the bolts holding the exhaust, (right hand side near the rear wheel), as I could not see anywhere else. I have just taken the Baotian on its maiden voyage, to go shopping, and I managed OK with my normal load, which is usually just a hand basket full, but I do have the back box fitted for extra capacity. Considering the scooter is brand new, and not run in, I was pleasantly surprised with the power, and found myself doing 45 kph on a downhill stretch, even though I was trying to keep it at 35 kph for the first few kilometres.

You speed freak!! A good idea when your scooter is parked up is to put it on its centre stand and gently rev it for about 10 minutes each time - just enough for the back wheel to spin round. If you do this often enough you'll actually be running the bike in without putting hardly any stress on the new engine.

I've had enough stress buying the thing, part assembling it, and registering it, so I think it deserves a bit of stress back
