Well Im getting nowhere fast. Did everybody get a C&E 389 with their paperwork when they got their bikes? or any other customs paperwork. Has anybody on here bought their bikes through Expressbuy101? on ebay.

I have just collected my brand new Baotian BT 50QT-9 today, from pitbike4all, near Newark. The forms I received with it were:- C&E 389, signed with the importers details and address, including port of importation, and Customs declaration number. V267 Declaration of Newness Sales Invoice from dealer EC Certificate of conformity The form V55/4 - Application for a first licence for a new motor vehicle and declaration for registration, is available at the DVLA office when you register the vehicle. I insured my Baotian through Ebike Insurance, (£126 fully comp.) and was able to print out a cover note from their website to use for registration, but this was refused by the DVLA, and I had to take in the cover note that I later received by post.

Ive had to fill a c384 out and post it off to customs and excise along with my invoice, delivery note and a german form apparently showing customs being paid when the bike went to austria from china. I hope to god that i get the all clear and can get it registered soon. Im getting fed up looking at the scooter in my garden.

I know how you feel chap, mine was in the garden for a month before I finally got it on the road. That was one of the longest months of my life, each day I'd start the bike up on its stand just to run it in and I'd even go forwards & backwards a few times - I desperately wanted to ride it properly.

I thought some sort of duty must have been paid, for it to get into Austria in the first place, (unless someone rode it in), so hopefully the VAT etc. will have been paid as well.

Stevieh, I see that this company has now started to advertise a couple of Dotera 125cc's (link below), so I have emailed them asking for an explanation of the registration process before I start bidding, explaining that I have read on a forum of an upset customer of theirs who is having problems. As yet 24 hours later, they have failed to respond but I will let you know if I hear anything. Ian. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4566565292&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AAAQ%3AUK%3A1&rd=1

The Dotera is a smart looking scoot although I'm not sure about 8bhp from a 125cc engine, seems a bit low when the legal limit is 15bhp. I'll be interested to see what it sells for.

Nice looking 125. Im sure everything is above board regarding customs etc. I think all the other scooters were bought through a company that is UK based, and shows the Uk customs paperwork. I think Expressbuy are based in austria, and use their own paperwork. Im hopeing customs will see my stuff and know what they are looking at. Fingers crossed. Watch this space!

Stevieh,
Just got home and had a response back from Expressbuy101. It reads:
Hi there,
I am well aware of the case, and it has now been solved. The customs were already paid by us, and we sent the customer proof of this, and it is now insured.
best regards
Alex EXPRESSBUY101
Let us know if this is not the case.
Ian.

I hope they dont mean me. They attached a form to an email that was in german, and said it was the proof that customs was paid. Ive sent this off to C and E and now waiting a response, which could take ages. So no the problem isnt solved yet.

The latest update!! I have received a demand from customs for £87. I phone and enquired about this and was told it was a destination tax. Payable regardless of duty being paid anywhere else. I was expecting £150 so I should be grateful. Im tired of arguing with anyone anymore, so Ive paid it. BE CAREFUL buying scooters from abroad through ebay.
