Hi all , I am REALLY new to the world of scooters and have just bought my first one this weekend, I will have to register it and I'm sure that will bring a whole lot of problems with it (knowing my bad luck)but i can't wait to get it on the road. I have bought a Geely 125T-11 but in the manual it says a JL125T-11. The trouble is that everywhere I look if i search on a JL125T-11 it shows up as a cruiser not a scooter I can find variations but nothing that is the same as the one I have, I'm a bit worried that the the only model I seem to find the same says that it is a 150cc not a 125cc as I am going to take my CBT and can't afford the DAS. Is there any way to physically check what model I have or find out the exact engine I have so that if I ever need part etc then I know what i have to buy. Also how the heck can I find instructions for the alarm it is so sensitive that every time there is a leaf blown on a gust of wind it sets the alarm off...... Now that is great but not for my neighbours... (lol) Don't get me wrong I'm not moaning, I absolutely love my new scooter and can't wait to ride it (it's soooooo frustrating seeing it sitting out the window and not being able to ride it and get the freedom that it will bring back into my life. I'm hoping to find some help in this community and be able to share some fun times and some great stories. kindest regards Ken

Thanks cb50j, you've been a great help. I have looked about at some of the sites and this model seems to be the odd one out on most of the sites I have tried to contact Geely a few times and not even had a reply. I was only hoping to find the specs for the msva test and maybe a service manual to teach me how to sort the little problems that may crop up oh and how to work/fix the bloody alarm.
Thanx any m8

I e-mailed Geely last night asking if they would be able to supply duplicate documentation. "jack jiang" of Geely replied asking if you could contact the distributor

tried that I contacted them, there answer was that they don't the documentation therefore it must have gone out with the bike. I asked what if it didn't go out with the bike, what would happen then? I was answered with a dead tone of the phone being hung up. So much for customer service!?$% Buy>Get Money>DONT CARE there is one born every minute..... so it is SVA test time. thanks m8

Re: Help is it Geely125T-11 or JL125T-11 OR ?? « Reply #11 on Sept 4, 2006, 12:54am » So much for customer service!?$% Buy>Get Money>DONT CARE there is one born every minute You said it yourself, there's too many sharks out there just like there were in the used car trade years ago. Back yarders they were called then and still are I think. The Government stepped in introducing new laws that affect back yarding, surely these same laws apply to back yard dealers of mopeds and scooters. I always look at what other people are selling when viewing an item on ebay. Its amazing how many are not just selling one moped but several. Does this indicate that something fishy's going on? Is the seller a registered dealer? Ebay is a great place to unload any product onto unsuspecting members of the public. Some people take advantage of it for a quick quid by buying insurance write offs, repossessions, or anything cheap they can get their grubby hands on and sell for a profit. Dont take the 16 year old kid selling a moped as the genuine article, there are too many scoots being sold without documentation. If it happens to be a stolen bike that you purchase, the original owner can claim it back and you have blown your money. There are genuine people selling products on ebay, but you have to judge each case on its merits remember a person is innocent until proven guilty. So its buyer beware. Make sure you get all the documents relevant to what you buy.. if they dont have any walk away. claim misleading information which is against the law for any seller who are by law suppose to give honest checkable details of what they are selling... Typical ploy is I bought this to renovate and never got around to it. Of course he didn't he bought it to resell it to someone else because he never had any intention to renovate in the first place. Just be carefull with what you buy and from whom. Its too late to whinge after the event.
