My scooter let me down last night. I was riding home from a doctors appt. My back tire felt a little low so I stopped at a gas station to fill it up. Flooded the engine when I tried to restart it.
I worked at it for a while trying to kickstart it (battery is dead)when the kick start started to make a squeaking noise. Well I needed to get it going because I need to get home as someone was supposed to stop by my house & pick up an outdoor toy I sold on ebay. Well the sqeak turned into a unpleasnt creaking noise. Then kickker would not fully return. Bent the return spring I am thinking. Could not get it started. So......it was time to push. The worst thing is, I was 5.5 miles from home & I had been thinking about waiting till I was closer to home to air up, as this station was in a not so good neighborhood. So off I go. I made it about a mile when it started to rain. I pulled up under a pavillion in a park & waited until a small thunderstorm passed. It looked like there was more rain to come, so I put my riding jacket(waterproof) & helmet back on to keep dry. Then off I went. The other bad part about this is the area is fairly hilly. So I would push for all I was worth up & then hop on & ride down. I only got about 6 blocks when it started to pour. Another wait under a building overhang until the monsoon passed. Made it another mile before it started raining again. This time it was a nice steady rain that stuck around all the way home. By the time I got home my shoes were full of water & my legs were very wet. My chest & head were dry but sweaty. So went my evening. Took me an hour & a half to get home. I was not on speaking terms ;D with my scooter when I got home, so I threw its cover on & went inside to dry off. I will have to open up the transmission cover tonight & check it out. Hopefully it is just that return spring & my belt was not damaged.
