Scooters are the most common type of stolen bike. The reason - they are twist and go
This means that any one in could hope on and ride it off. I have got a ground anchor, oxford heavy duty chain, my steering lock and and the alarm to keep the theiving little pikeys away.

its not so much a problem with our scoots as most bikes ae stolen to order and to be honest who would order a baotian when they can have a aprilla or a peugeot

I always chain my scoot to something solid and, if I'm leaving it for any time, put a disc lock on as well. You could also buy a cheap cover (Argos sell then for about a tenner). Theives are less likely to attempt to pinch something if they can't see clearly what it is.
It is possible to buy alarms etc, but then who ever pays any attention to car alarms so I can't really see the point of them.
