If you think its your clutch grabbing, 2 things come to mind. Go to the 'engine & derestrictin' section, & 'derestricting a Baotion, the only guide you need' guide, go through until you see how to take your variator aprt to take out the restrictor ring, but now carefully slide off the back half of the pully as well. Now with that unit in your hand CAREFULLY tip it over and slide the back off, in side you will see the rollers, check to see if they are still round, and have not worn eliptical, if they have they will need changing. It will be because some of these will work properly and others will stick then fly out to catch up, giving you belt snatch. In efect, the variator is working in 2 stages. This happened to me after I disturbed it when changing my belt, and doing the above cured it. obviously clean the components while you have it in pieces. Its very unlikley you have any thing wrong with the clutch unit itself, but you could take it off while your there and grease the clutch roller bearings as mine had no grease in at all! See how you go, good luck.

P.S When using the guide do not get confused with the spacer ring it says to take out, it is not there in a 125, and the guide is for the 50. We have one long sleeve which has to go back.

The 2nd was belt slip, they have been known to 'judder', but its unlikely from what you say, but you will need to rake the side cover off to do either job so its worth inspecting the belt condition. I was mine as little as possible, I prefer to wipe it down with a damp cloth, I gace it a good quality polosh before it went on the road for the 1st time.
