I would have thought the higher the number, the greater or newer the bike would be. These model numbers confuse me.

I would have thought the higher the number, the greater or newer the bike would be. These model numbers confuse me. The manufacturers like it that way. They take last years model, put some different decals on, give it a new number, & we have got a NEW model for this year. Doesn't matter what product it is, the formula remains the same. I work for a Canon Copier/FAX/Scanner dealer & the formula is in full force at Canon. (Well actually the whole business machine industry is that way.) They take last years copier & make a minor change, give a new number & its a NEW model. Some of them change models twice a year!
