My indicators, electric start and fuel gauge where on the blink today on and off. Do you guys think its a case of loose wires or something more serious?

It sounds like loose wires or blown fuse

I would start at the battery terminals, clean up both the lead faces and the trminal faces with some sandpaper or emery cloth, then bolt up tight and either vasaline or grease the terminals.

I have had that problem before. In my case, it was a connecter plug under the front panel. Find the back of the ignition & follow the wires down. About 4-6 inches down you will see a white connecter plug. That plug may be partially or totally unplugged. In my case, It looked fine, but when I checked it was actually part way unplugged. I plugged it back in & went about my business. Next day it was unplgged again. So I pushed it together & held there, then wrapped it with electrical tape. I have not had any more problems witht eh offening plug. Hope that helps. Chris

Turned out to be a blown fuse. Not only blown but melted. Got a replacement today though and everything is fine.

they are on the same fuse as the lights so that wouldnt be the problem try the wiring may be a loose connection
