Right so now my scooter is delayed (yet again). It was suppose to be arriving tommorow but now it may be Wednesday or apparently even the beggining of next week. The DVLA have yet to send my registration number and tax to Baotian Uk, hence they cannot send me the bike. Also, if I do not give my insurance company my registration details by Thrusday I will have no insurance, but yet I have already paid for it.
I phoned the DVLA only to be cut off by some jobsworthy woman who obviously did not care about me or anyone else in the world. So I am left without scooter and possibly without insurance. This is extremely inconvenient as I need this bike to commute. I am now shall we say extremely hacked off.
Has anyone else had problems with the DVLA regarding scooter registration?

Yes, this is a favourite old cherry of mine! To be fair, DVLA usually are not to blame, in my case it was the incompetence and lies from my dealer, DVLA got the registration through in a day ONCE they got the docs from the dealer, who I believe held onto them until thet had a few to send on. My insurence broker said the same, but pointed out that although I had paid in full for full comp, it was only covered for 3rd party only until registration, and they would cancell if it was not notified after 10 days and refund. charging full comp. cover for the days on cover + £15. The broker was BIKESURE, also known as Adrian Flux. I went direct to the insurance compant, Equity Red Star and sorted it with them direct, which is what you may have to do if they will deal direct with you, I had to put up one hell of a fight to get through! Insurance is no more than legalised theft!

P.s. DVLA are known to be random checking BAOTIAN bikes as a container load was stolen, so this may also be a factor.

When out for a ride, found it hard not to full throtle although I did at some times.Went to petrol station couldnt get cap off. I looked like a thingy! Found out how to put petrol in. Got nodded at by bloke on a big superbike. Felt good, and then an Alfa Romeo let me go and as I went she had somehow speeded up and had to skid to let me out. That really scared me. Generally pleased with bike and its lovely purr although I was overtaken at least ten times! Conclusion - Brilliant bike but want more speed.

GREAT!!!! Now have some fun. Huh! What are you doing in reading this? Should be out on the bike, you've waited long enough. It will get better as it goes on, dont knock the bo88754s out of it, be patient and it will be better in the long run. Finally, dont panic when things go wrong as they almost certainly will, just read the HINTS TIPS & DIY, or other pages, and yuou will find its already happened to some one else and theres the cure too, if not ask! Good luck and enjoy.

Agreed well done on getting the bike now just enjoy. Summer is here so forget speed and plod along in the sunshine. Derestrict after 500k and once it gets to a 100k it will just purr along. All the time you are waiting your riding skills will be improving.
