Does anyone have any experience using synthetic motor oil for their ride? Anyone get any extra miles from oil additives near the end of the life of thier scooter? Thanks

Synthetic oil is fine after your 2nd oil change, it will last twice (some say 3 times) as long as mineral oil. I would not use it for the running in period, as it is so good it will stop rings wearing to fit the bores and scaping off the honing marks, which is what you want to seal the engine. After that expect long life protection. The small quantity of oil we use in these bikes does not make it economic to spend out on oil additives towards the end of mineral oil life, just change it, and it is not needed at all with synthetic. I buy and use synthetic all the time, for bike and car.

Thanks!
I was told not to use in an engine that already had conventional motor oil run in it for some time. Something about the seals or gaskets deteriorating?

Synthetic oil is fine in a run in engine as enu06 says.
A classic car guru I know has been using the same fill of Mobil 1 for 20'000 miles with just precautionary filter changes & topping up in between with no ill effects.
Obviously if your engine is clapped out & burning or leaking oil you would be wasting your money, but mainly due to it's superior protective qualities at cold engine startup, it is undoubtedly a good investment in a good engine.
