Hello Everyone and thanks Ginger Phil for your generosity! I have just purchased a new Geely (I think this is the manufacturer) 150cc retro scooter (I tried to upload a jpeg hope it works if not here's the link if you wish to view it: www.gsmotorworks.com/PRODUCTDETAIL/c28_f747/Retro_Scooters/0.html My question(s) is: "What is the best way to start out riding a vehicle like this in order to insure as many miles as possible?" I've heard I should change out all the fluids with premium oils and fluids (what about additives 'pro-long' or 'lucas oil additive'). How about nuts and bolts replace with stainless steele? Brake fluid? How about a high performance spark plug say a Bosch or similar brand? Thank you All for whatever suggestions you may have meadman

the model is the same as mine only the name is different , for me you made a good choice, if it is new you should have it serviced at the service station as they log it, because a point that maybe important is that if you do not have it serviced at an official station and you do your own it may effect the gurantee? one difference I noticed is that mine has a 2 year gurantee and that is the only thing that is stopping me stripping it down to see how it works ;D ;D

Hey - I'm running sythetic 10/40 in my Yamaha scooter as it is full run-in with 3k on the clock.
And I will eventually put sythetic in my Baotian BT50-9 but not yet as it only has 100kms on the clock, so is only 1/3 run in !
As has been said above, you should use standard oil during the running-in persiod as synthetic is literally too lubricating and will slow down the running-in and bedding in of moving parts..... however once run-in the rules change and you want the most effective lubrication you can get .... I would personally leave the synthetic until around 500kms / 3 month running, on the clock.
