I bought my first motor bike a BSA 250cc for my 16th birthay after that I bought a BSA A7 550 twin, then went to the best bike of the day a Triumph T110, after that I bought a second hand Vespa for £25.00 and it did every thing and carried any thing that I could load onto it and it gave me no problems, I bought a Lambretta 125cc in South Africa and used it for traveling all over the country plus the neighbouring countries, that gave me no problems either, the next buy was also a Lambretta I bought it in Athens a rode it to Turkey and there I covered the country from east to west and Cyprus with it, that gave me no problems either , now I have bought a chinese scooter , not by choice ,but by price, they are a lot cheaper than the well known types (1/3) the price , and I do not do or want to do any long distant riding now and it is useful for getting around easily , it did feel strange the first time as I was not used to scooters without gears and and so I was pulling on the breaks when I thought I was pulling on the clutch, which gives the opposite results, is this suitable for me ? yes if I can do my own repairs easily, and there does not seem to be a lot of information around to do this, do I have a licence ? yes some where. the big difference I think between the chinese and Italian scooters is ,quality and that has to be paid for , do we need it ? for the price difference ,no ,3 to1. well I think that will have to be enough or it may become boring for you. ;D

Hello everybody,
Thanks for your replies. Could anybody who has replied send me a photo of their scooter please, I know I've had some from some of you but most of them were quite small file sizes, so won't be good enough for print. I need the best quality photo your camera can take. if not, don't worry too much but I'd like to get the photos in if possible, preferably with you on it as well.
Thanks for your help. Iggy

Hi Iggy, I,m 52 started riding bikes at 2yrs, 'steering', my dads Ariel squire four to the garage, and grown up with bikes every since.I used to live on Canvey Island when it was 75% faem land, and was responsible for trackifiying many AJS, Ariel Huntmaster, (2) Matchless 500 jampots etc as an under age biker, then my 1st road bike was a gifted NSU Quickly, which was faster than most of todays bikes as it had 2 gears, then a Triumph Thunderbird and sidecar follwed, then I passed my test on a Suzuki GT 250M Ram air, then a whole loada bike followed upto 02, when I bought my last big bike, Aprilia Futura Vtwin 1000, which I sold last year to give up bike for good. Sooo........I bought the Sukida 125 and here I am. Luckily I come from an engineering background, Aircraft engineering school at RAF Halton, instructor training for the Air cadets in engines, theory of flight and airframrs, (did'nt know that did you Alley!)and worked in several bikeshops including Honda franchised, so I should be able to sort these chinkies out. I'd give it 97% for value for money, which does not mean the quality comes upto say Honda, but you pay less than 1/2 of Honda money. Yes. as it suits me for up here I would buy another one without question, probably from BTS in Scotland. I hope this contributes to your survey.

I'd like to know the average age of the riders on here 46 What sort of riding backgrounds you've got, have you always ridden bikes/scooters or never ridden in your lives and saw these scoots as a cheap way to get around or maybe you've had scooters for years?Saw a "Britains" toy vespa in a toyshop and was hooked on scooters from the age of 9. I've had various types including 11 Honda C50/70/90. I had a few bikes and they were ok but I've always liked scooters. I have a love of all things Japanese, and so prefer these oriental scooters to the european ones. Been riding since 1977. passed my test in 1980. What scoot would you buy next? Would it be another Chinese scoot or one of the mainstream brands and what cc? It would depend on price. I really like the Vespa GTs 250, but the £3300 asking price is extortionate for a scooter. There are so many good scoots out there for under 500 quid. Have you got a full bike licence?Yes, since 1980 What's the overall percentage you'd give your scoot? My Baron 125-85% so far My Chunlan 90%-that bike is rugged!
