Having a full face helmet, I found I needed to get a larger back box, so that I don't need to carry the helmet around with me.
The largest I could get is from Alpha Custom bikes (per Ebay) and, although it is as tall as the helmet, there are some protrusions into the box for the quick release, meaning that the lid needs a fair amount of effort to close, and appears to be slightly bent to fit, so the helmet is under some pressure.
I don't want to damage the helmet, but I would like to store it in the box long term (i.e. when I am at my work, however, I'll go for short term (visiting a shop etc) if this is less likely to cause damage.
I'm also likely to remove the protrusions and take off the quick release facility (which I don't really need) if this means that there is no pressure on the helmet.
Or I could do nothing and send the box back (which I'm not so sure that I want to do, as I think that the extra storage space is useful anyway)
Any views?

I bought mine from Alpha and it was top notch, are you sure you haven't got an extra big helmet? Maybe your large helmet is the cause of all your problems? These tight gaps are meant for small helmets not great big whopping ones. Hell, I could go on all day. ;D Basically, is your crash hat too big and not the box too small?

No, It's a normal size 'L' Takachi full face. I think that they do some larger ones.
I've found out that it will fit, if I put it on it's side - but is that any good for it?

Can't do any harm. I can't see why it won't fit easily. With my top box I could fit my helmet, gloves, glasses and probably a couple of other small bits. Are you sure you've fixed it to the scooter properly, can you take a piccy with the helmet in the box?

I'll take some photos.
Actually, this is the largest box they do (47Litres). They said it was the copy of the GIVI one. It has a quick release mechanism, so you can press a button and take the box away like a small suitcase (It has a nice handle)
If the helmet is in there I can still fit my motor bike over trousers, gloves, chain, and still have some room. Actually quite brilliant. Plus, it doesn't look too big on the bike.
It was really easy to fit, because you just need to bolt a flat plate onto the bike, and the box clips(and locks) into it.
But the quick release part is the problem, because there are a couple of protrusions into the box. so, although it is actually 29cm high and my helmet is 27cm high, I dont have a full size area that is full height.
Anyway, I'm learning to live with it. I can fit the helmet on its side, which I am doing for short trips (i.e. not needing to carry it around shops with me), but I still feel more comfortable taking it into my house or office, so it remains upright when not used.
