Well as most of us Know our scooters run of a Honda 50cc GY6 engine. Well an older freind of mine is a some what whizz kid with motorcycles and hes got a honda with a 50cc GY6 Engine exactly the same as ours i know this as he compared it to my baotian. Any way he has tuned his up dramatically. He can do 70mph of it on the flat and yes i did say 70mph. And this freind has offerd to do mine but it will take a while so i am waiting till iv got a set of 4 wheels to cover the lost time. I know what yourl all gunna say that ours cant do it etc but iv seen it done. so wen mines dones il report back and see whats what.

im not sure but probably along the lines of
1) Port Polish 2) Unlimited Rev CDI 3) Sport foam filter and a better carb 4) Advancing ignition timing 5) Gear Ratios
like a say im not completely sure il see wen a can and see what needs to be done but he said it is a big job and EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. so dont you lot go ripping your bikes to bits.

70 m.p.h is great,...... not sure on a 10" tire the best thing to do. At 45 im a bit weary. but i guess if you have a QT-7 front tire is a 12" that would be a bit better. #sprint#

Nitrous oxide maybe? Avgas? its possible but who would want to do that anyway? yeah lovely 70mph machine but heres the down sides fear of it blowing up Less reliability Bad fuel economy More chance of it getting nicked More head turns from the police More chance of engine seizure regular piston changes Burnt out cylinder heads exessive belt changes the list goes on forever. In my opinion why go to all that trouble when you can get a 125 with the same speed maybe better which can be slightly tuned still without the above happening ;D Mitch

I would not want to go that fast on 10" wheels. Not to mention you would have a LOT less reaction time upon seeing a hole in the road.

You say that most of the Chinese scooters run off a Honda 50cc GY6 engine, but are these engines actually made by Honda or are they Chinese copies. If the latter then there may be subtle differences in parts, materials or quality control which could make this project difficult.
If they are genuine Honda engines then I would be suprised by the amount of engine issues that a lot of people have here as my Honda engine has so far proved to be bulletproof.

I doubt that they are actual Honda engines. More likely a license built copy.

i dont know if they are copy but the chituma xl 125 is actualy the old honda xl125 the bloke used to make the bikes for honda and when they went out of production he started making them for himself under his own name so that could be whats happend with these
