My scooter arrived today! (Photos to follow tomorrow) Now, Ive filled it with petrol and got it started via the kick start as the electric start would do it, Im hopeing that it is because the battery is flat. When the engine is running, and I put the lights on, the engine fades so I turn the lights off and the revs pick up again. I think I need to keep it turning over for a while. Tomorrow Im taking the docs to the DVLA and pray everything is in order and the COC is accepted.

Good news chap!! Mine wouldn't start properly either, wobble the bike back & forth about a dozen times and try starting it again.

When I say "wobble" I mean from side to side as if it's nearly going to fall over not front to back.

Congrats How long did it take to arrive from winning the bid ?? I've bid on a few of these over the passed few days but haven't managed to win one yet as they always seem to finish in the evening when I am away from the office. I'm also not happy with the fact that you cannot see who you are bidding against. Anyway let us know how smoothly the registration goes.

I won mine on the Thursday and it arrived the following Monday. IAN: Have you considered buying one via Buy It Now? Not always the cheapest way but at least you're guaranteed to get a scooter.

Phil, thats my last resort option. He's not sixteen until the end of August so I'm holding out for a better deal before then

my approach to e-bay is simple. Bid what you are happy to pay then if you win the auction great, if not...well then it wasn't meant to be. I'm curious to know what bike you bought that had to come from Austria Hope you've got a snazzy pair of leather shorts to wear when you take it out ;D

It is a Baotian BT50QT-11, a retro one in black and white, a few on ebay all the time. As I say, Im hopeing there will be no probs registering it.

I agree with drzoom, although i must say i have kicked myself for missing out on a few bargains because they were £5 or so over my highest bid.
