Has anyone had a fatality on one of these Chinese scooters?

I thought i was going to die once when i had to put the brakes on pretty quickly doin about 40 down hill, both wheels locked up on the wet tarmac and i was having to use both of my feet as stabilizers Almost ended up in the boot of the guy in front Thats the most scariest life threatening situation on my taishan ive had so far

Don't think my brakes could lock the wheels if they tried.

I always leave the same amount of braking distance as I would driving my car. Never come close to rear-ending someone yet. ;D

i too leave a distance same as when driving my car, however it doesn't help when the van in front doesn't have any brake lights and then suddenly stops. managed a good emergency stop (glad we practiced these on the CBT), so managed not to plough into the back of it. though it didn't help with the car behind being so close, luckily it just stopped in time. what an eventful ride to college today jules

from some of the posts here it looks rather like the bikes die before the owners do

I came of a gilera runner(not mine) once at 50 and screwed myself up a treat. Hit a pot hole and flew of it, my left side was bruised and cut. I broke his forks and did alotta panel damage. He managed to sort most of it out and managed to keep his cool and not knock my teeth out.
