Welcome aboard f1mad. Just had a look at that Baotian and it looks like a very good deal indeed. The price of £499 is about right but the delivery charge of £75 is about £25 cheaper than most other companies plus you get a free top box - if you look in The Showroom section I've just paid £35 + £10 p&p for mine. Personally I'd say go for it!! The only downside to buying an unregistered scooter (like most of us on here have) is the time it can take to get the bike registered. Have a read through this forum and you'll see what I mean, my bike took 4 weeks to get registered but 2 of those weeks were down to the company I bought the bike from not sending the documents sooner. The company selling that Baotian have a very good feedback rating so I can't see any problems arising. Go on mate, click on that Buy It Now button before somebody beats you to it - you know you want to!! ;D

I would agree with Ginger Phil. The seller has excellent feedback so must be reliable, the price seems very good, and the bike looks pretty smart. I've never bought a scoot on e-bay but I did sell both the Bajaj Spirit 50cc and the Adly 125cc through the site with no problems. The guy who bought the Bajaj came up to my Dunfermline home from Stratford Upon Avon !
For what it's worth I'd go for it too. Good Luck !

f1mad: There you go chap, two people telling you to go for it so what's your decision going to be? ;D I bought my scooter from eBay and I guess many people on here have so as long as the company have a good feedback score you shouldn't have any probs.

Have a read of the "Trouble with certificate of conformity" topic, it's pot luck whether your local DVLA office are numpties or not.

I agree, that Baotian looks like a very good deal to me. The money you'll save on postage will pay for your first years road tax.

worth also pointing out to thoses who are wary of e-bay and buying on line in general. I bought the wee Bajaj Spirit on-line from the importer and had no problems at all. A year later I bought a Piaggio B125 from a certified dealer for over £2500 and it was a dog, the engine was bugged to bits and the dealer next to useless. Got a full refund after 5 fraught weeks. I think the lesson is there is always a risk of buying a pig-in-a-poke no matter how careful you are being. As Clint Eastwood said "are you feeling lucky punk...." ;D

Exactly!! These Chinese scooters often get a bad rap but does that mean every other scooter on the road has never developed a fault of any kind?

feel that perceptions of Chinese bikes, and goods in general is about to undergo a major change. Make no mistake that if the 19th century was ours and the 20th century was the Americans then the 21st will undoubtably belong to the Chinese, they are a massive economic powerhouse just waiting to explode into all our lives. Don't forget that 30 odd years ago Taiwanese and Japanese goods were a by-word for shoddy and cheap and look at them now. Very soon we'll all be buying Chinese bikes without a second thought or concern of any kind.

The idiot has just replied to my reply, I can't display it on eBay for some strange reason so here it is: Why the hell do you have pictures of a scooter on the item description? and why does the item say Chinese scooter club. 49cc, twist & go,50cc, moped...exc......that makes no sense to me. thats straight retarded. but whateverI've replied asking how he came to the conclusion that a scooter was for sale.

The guy is clearly a pleb. You're not wrong there mate!! Well what do you know, another zero feedback person has bid up to £10.50 for my piece of pea shingle. I'm all for a wind-up but these sorts of people should be banned from eBay. I remember trying to sell my old Focus and I had a Buy It Now price of £5300, I came home to find an email saying someone had purchased it but when I got in contact the seller had a feedback rating of 3 and all of them Negative.
