hello i dont know if this is due the extreme cold we have been suffering in the last few days but my brake light stays on all the time and also when i start the bike i dont need to depress the rear brake? is this just becuase of the cold? any ideas as to waht it could be?

have you checked the brake is not sticking on? mine was when i first had it.

umm it dose tend to lock up at first when its started but after a few mins of riding its ok but the light is still on how do i check that its sticking? but the wheel is moving freely

if the wheel is moving freely i dont think it is the break sticking, you can feel it stick on when driving. have you got the light on? because on mine there is 3 settings off, all on and half on witch is the little light on the front and the back light on(not saying your thick). if it is not that then i would take the switch apart.

put some wd40 one the brake leaver, the slightest Touch on the brake lever sets the brake light off

umm tyred the wd40 but it had no effect but i did find out that when i press the brake lever down slightly the light goes off so has anyone got any idea to what the problem could be and how to resolve it?

Try some wd in the brake light switch it may have got damp or try a new one. Dont know what type of switch it is but i presume it is the standard one that just pushes into the brake lever bracket once you have removed the lever.

Im not sure as i dont have a scoot anymore but if you pull your brake lever in you may be able to see the end of it or be able to work out where it is

Will have a small 2 core wire coming from the lever/bracket area.

That was on a clutch lever but its the same as a brake switch.

ok just had enough time and i fixed it! it was a lose wire on the brake light swich thing!
