Hi all as most of you know im new on the road with my bt50 and ive now done 650km. i think it was doing it before as well but ive noticed that from stand still when i go full throtle, it revs and acelerates quite slowly (like the belt is slipping) and then when it gets to about 8-10mph something catches and it starts to move quite alot faster. is this normal for these chinse scooter's? thanks all

Sounds like the clutch springs are a bit tight
shouldnt be anything to worry about

Well it might not be the clutch but it doesn't sound like anything serious
Get some lighter rollers fitted and then it will probably fix itself and you will have a massive acceleration boost compared to what u have with the standard rollers

is the engine not still being "run in" at 650k?
is the problem constant or only at certain times?

also, if you are going full throttle from standstill are you not flooding the engine, despite it's small stature.??
you certainly cant get away with flooring a car in any gear and the engine just dealing with it, it will spit and flood and flutter until it catches up or the management system sorts it out.
i am asking as much as advising, as i am very new to scooters, but have lots of experience with engines and cars from old to new.

hi, yes i do go full throttle because if i don't then i don't move are you not suppose to go full throttle then from stand still? and it doesn't always happen but it does most of the time, 90 percent it could be the cold weather? and i thought the engine would of been mostly worn in by 650km Chris

Sounds as if the air/fuel mixture is not perfect. Try the mixture screw. There's other threads explaining how to adjust the screw. Most people that I have read about including myself, worn in a Baotian at around 1500 km.
