Hi all, i dont understand why as my baotian is only 2 months old, but on both grips the litle silver caps have come off somewhere and the rubber bits at the end have ripped, so im in need of some new ones, i would prefer different grips but not sure if they will fit. can you just buy standard grips from say Halfords that wll fit, or do you need the originals? also how would you take the old grips off as they're on there really tight thanks in advanced all

Grips are all the same size for scooters they are anyway. If your not goin to a "proper" bike shop in halfords look for some that say universal or sommet along them lines anyway.
Removing the old grips, You need a stanley knife and some hairspray!
Slice across the grips from one end to another and just squirt nuts loads off hairspray you really do need it and a good old "TUG" usually does the trick.
Putting new ones on, Squirt a small amount off hairspray inside the gril and push on its as simple as that a bit off brutel force is sometimes required.
Simple Job lad, Youll be fine doin it, easy peasy. You could allways go full out and get some heated handlebar grips, make sure your good with electronics though if you do. As they need wiring to the battery. (Not a prob with normal ones, obviously)

I would use washing up liquid or furniture polish, isn't hairspray sticky?!

The middle ones say they fit Vespa's so I wouldn't touch them. As for the other two it say's nothing about size so it would be typical if these Chinese scooters had grips which were either bigger or smaller than any other scooter. #hammer#

no, I had a similar problem on another bike though.
The only problem I have had is that, when I turn the throttle back to slow down, it goes past the 'stop' for another half turn, it doesn't effect the speed below tickover, it's just anoying.
So I'm looking for a new throtle control, if anyone knows where there is a cheap (or FREE) one #afro# #afro#

I just copied that from there website - sorry it looks a bit salesy, I don't have a connection with the shop, but I have bought from them in the past and they have been good too me (By the way, I'm getting tempted by the heated grips!)

I havn't tried, but I think that it would not be too easy to measure up first (without taking the grips off - there is a bit of handlebar that can be reached!!.
There are also some overgrips, that stick with velcro - I'm worried that they may get nicked thought!
