This started happenning a few hours after de-restriction. (the source of all problems!) Anyway if the engine is idle, say waiting at traffic lights, and then they go green if you turn the throttle the revs just get heavy and not faster or quicker. Its like a low pulsing rev. I have to go back to idle and try again and this may happen a few times before it gets goin again. Any ideas?? The people waiting behind me dont think its funny either....

sounds like your fuel mixtures have gone a bit wrong! Theres a little brass flat head screw which controls idle fuel mixtures! set that to about 2 1/2 turns out from fully in! and see if that fixes it! also if your main jet needle has a moveable washer on that, i think u need to move that down to the third notch!

The manual that came with my scooter says that turning the mixture screw clockwise (in) richens the mixture. Hope this helps!

Thats right Chkn. It's correct name is an 'AIR SCREW' it alters the mixture buy allowing more or less AIR in to the mixture. It alters the air NOT the fuel.
As you screw the screw in it cuts off the air inlet, therfore making the mixture richer!
The fuel level is altered by means of the slide needle in the carb top.

The best way to tell if it's set correctly is to, get the engine warmed up (a couple of Min's), then slowly adjust the screw a half turn one way then the other and while you are doing this listen to the engine revs. You are aiming to get the revs as high as you can, just by setting this screw. When you have got it ticking over at it's fastest revs, you have the best air/fuel mix. As far as the washer on the needle goes, I would try putting it on the second from the top, before you have a go at setting the mixture. Let us know how you get on.
