Hi everyone,
Was riding my Baotian BT50QT-11 back from the supermarket yesterday evening and some bloke ran into the back of me in a Punto! The back of the bike is quite badly smashed, but only bodywork.
Wheeled the bike home but no idea what to do next. With it being an import I can imagine it's going to be a nightmare to repair!
To make things worse, my insurance company are not being particularly helpful. I rang them first thing this morning and was told they couldn't take my call as 'they didn't have the right systems running'. I then called back on my lunch break and was told they were too busy and someone would ring me back.
I was hoping the call would come before my lunch break ended, but in the event I received a missed call nearly 2 hours later, but as I'm not allowed to make personal calls during work time, I couldn't take it. I then rang again at 18:30 and was told the office was closed. This from what claims to be a 24-hour helpline!
It is normal to receive such rubbish service from an insurer when trying to report an accident? It's actually quite a big deal to me but they just keep fobbing me off and meanwhile I have to make do with no transport!
Any advice?

I imagine the insurers will right your bike off as getting spares will be a nightmare.

Well, I have no digital camera so can't put any photos up. Things are looking a bit more positive now. I have found someone willing to do the work. They have been in contact with the people I bought the bike from about parts and they are currently putting together an estimate for me,

Hi Trinity, i have a nearly new retro i use for spares if you let me know what u need i may be able to help. If the damage is not too bad and the insurance company still write it off you can always buy it back and put it back together. good luck. retro's rule !!
