i'm having a few probs wiht ym scoot its a taishan sport
The electric start won't worK is this due to flat battery? as indicators horn and brake light all work or is it due to glass fuse( if s where do i get one of these from.
Thjis morning on my way to work i filled up with petrol but went right to the top and since then it has started popping while i'm accelerating is my exhaust about to blow
Also the engine is still losing power stopping and having to be restarted every 5 miles or so i've checked the fuel line and that was fine

It's possibly not related, but check that the vacuum return feed to the fuel pump is not damaged. They get trapped easily and then tear.
It should be the other (not fuel) connection to the bottom of the fuel pump and go to the carb. If it doesn't have a vacuum in it, the fuel won't come out of the pump.
Best way to test is to remove one end from carb, remove fuel pipe from carb (CAREFUL YOU WILL SPILL PETROL) suck on vacuum pipe (wash mouth after!!) and fuel should flow. If it doesn't, the pipe is broken (you will be able to tell anyway as there will be no feeling of pressure in the pipe)
Put it back together. If it is broken, as an emergency repair, tape over any hole on the vacuum pipe, or replace it with some windscreen washer tubing from B&Q or Halfords. But do get the correct pipe to change it asap.
Electric start, you may have flattenned the battery with the extra starting that you had to do.

Another thing may be that, since you filled it to the top, the tank breather may be blocked. it works like this, as petrol flows out the bottom of the tank, the breather pipe lets air in at the top. If air can't get it then fuel won't flow out. This would explain why you have to stop every 5 mins or so. When you stop the air pressure in the fuel tank can equalize and the fuel will flow again, until a vacuum is caused again and the fuel stops!. It's like dipping a straw in water, covering the top end with your finger and lifting it out, it holds the water in. You remove your finger and the water flows out because air can get in to replace it. That's your science lesson over for today!!

If you are doing 50 miles a day I would seriously suggest buying a decent 125cc bike as you will find that kind of mileage far easier.
I started out on a cheap Indian 50cc doing a 30 mile round trip to work each day. Sold it within a month and bought a 125cc Adly as it was obvious the 50cc just wasn't up to the job. The difference in performance and general safetly was amazing and I've never looked back.

Did you think about derestricting your 50 to cope with the pressure? My Blaster is being done today as I'm bored with doing 30mph plus there's loads of times when you need that extra oomph.

sounds like you might have a tight exhaust valve! that would most likely cause exhaust popping and a loss/lack of power!

i suppose adjusting the valve clearances is quite a difficult job if your not a mechanic!
You will have to remove the valve cover(the top bit of the engine) then you will see the valves and the rocker arms! inbeetween the rocker arms and the top of the valves there needs to be a very small gap of about 0.5mm!
Hope this helps, its a bit difficult to explain!

Phil I did get the 50cc Bajaj Spirit derestricted but to be honest like most cheap bikes it didn't make a whole lot of difference as the engines aren't great shakes to start with. I would guess you will notice a big difference in performance when you get the Blaster derestricted, look forward to hearing how you get on.
