Well the scooters arrived on Friday and I spent most of yesterday morning assembling the first (Mirrors, Handle Bars Grips, Top Box etc.) Fitted the battery and added 5L of fuel and to my surprise the thing started first time however, the horn is not working and neither is the fuel guage (still showing empty). Is there a possibility of a loose connection or was I supposed to charge the battery first, as I've noticed that it ticks over ok, until the lights are switched on at which point is slowly grinds to a halt. Any assistance is much appreciated before I start on the second one. Ian.

This may be a daft question, but did you fill the battery with the supplied fluid?
It does sound like your battery is not charged, but what I would check first is the battery connections and the fuse next to the battery.
A few people seem to have had problems with their batteries also. They may be able to help more than I can. I'm sure someone will post an answer on here soon enough!

I have checked the connections and they are tight, Red on Positive and Black on Negative and I have checked the long fuse in the plastic case next to the battery and the wire is not broken.
There was no fluid supplied, should there have been ?

with the battery there should be a large-ish rectangular bottle, that looks like it has six compartments. This is battery acid, and need to be put into a brand new battery to 'activate' it.
Does your battery have a silver foil strip along the to of it? If it does it's beand new and has no acid in it. You will either need to speak to your bike supplier for the bottle of acid, or get a replacement battery acid from somewhere.

I'll check on Friday when I get home, but I'm pretty sure that the battery has black plastic on the top similar to my car battery and I know for definate that there is no bottle.
The Battery itself came in a box the same size.

Checked the battery yesterday and it's completely sealed. So I put it on charge last night and it's now working fine. Have dismantled the horn today and its definitely not working so I will be ordering a replacement from the internet bike shop. Still cannot get the petrol Gauge to work on either scooter, any offers Ian.

The float on the petrol gauge may be catching on the side of the tank(mine was) remove the float assembly from the tank and make sure it is the right way round.

Figured out how to take the float out over the weekend, it wasn't that it was jammed on the side but more rusted up.
Gave it a clean with some sand paper and applied a bit of lube to the hinge and it now works a treat.
