My speedo decided it did not want to work anymore,me of little motorcycle maintenance thought i would strip things down to have a little butchers,to see if i could fix it.Dismantled all the instrument panel and could find nothing out of place there. Then decided to undo the speedo cable where it goes into the wheel housing, and put it all back together again. Now my odometer has stopped clocking up the miles as well and i don't know where to go from here.

If you unscrew the speedo cable out of the back of the instrument panel and spin the front wheel, does the inner cable move? If so then it might be your instrument panel thats buggered. If it doesn't spin then it's either a broken cable or the worm drive bit in the front hub. Well, thats what it was with mine anyhow.
