Hi just brought a Taishan scooter for my son for when he reaches 16 in a couple of months time. It needs a few jobs sorting out so I shall probably be on here quite often within the next few weeks seeking advice. First job is the electric start does not work. Holding the rear brake lever and pressing the start button results in just a clicking sound. Kick starts fine, all other electrics work and the battery appears OK. Suspect starter motor. Anyone confirm this and what sort of job is it to replace?

I had a similar problem with starter, it just turned out to be the cheap battery being fuzzled

Many thanks hypojam for reply. Did you invest in a new battery?
