Hello,
I live in Ashford, Kent and, after reading through a few other introductory posts, can quite honesty call myself an old Git !
I'm expecting my Baotian 50cc to arrive this week and the last time I rode two mechanised wheels was when I had a BSA 125cc Bantam back in the 60's, single seater - far out !
I'm buying it as a frugal exercise and plan to use it for tinkering about town. BTW, do you think it would be OK for a 14 mile trip to Canterbury twice or thrice a week - pretty flat ?
As introduction, I'm 58, semi-retired, semi self suficient, keep chickens and in the summer, work for Kent County Cricket Club as the Dressing Room man.
I'm really excited about the Baotian coming and I have no doubt I shall be sharing some experiences and asking a few questions of you. Hope you won't mind, the brain is also 58 ! ;D

Hello & welcome Your scooter will easily go that far. I had my 50cc out for a 30 mile trip Friday. We have some members that ride 35+ miles (one way) to work every day.

Hello again,
Thanks for the welcome.
I got the bike through ebay. Llexeter.
I only noticed the dealer at Wingham after I'd ordered it.
It has gone through my mind that ordering it from Exeter may be a prob should there be any mishaps - so I've fingers crossed.
Since I ordered I've been scanning places to see one, but haven't yet, but it seems there are quite a few around.
Have you had any problems atall, or just the silly bits and bobs etc.?
Nice to see some fellow Men of Kent (although I'm an escaped Kentish Man !

Throttle cable snapped - my fault coz I am a speed freak and stalls a bit - also my fault I leave it in the rain for days without a cover. So there has been no probs apart from ones I have caused myself.
