I have owned my Blue Taishan 50cc Commuter Scooter for two years now. I have completed 2997Km's on it. It had huge problems after first month like difficulty starting, uneven running low power so bad I thought I had wasted my £450.00 I paid for it. A local dealer had it for four months and after 6 carbs, de-restriction,spanners chucked all over the place I decided to take it back and give it a go. Before I took it back he had adjusted the valve clearances. Well after 6 months all I can say is what a great scooter!! It roars around at 40mph although its a bit sluggish until it warms up and steep hills can be a bit of a slow climb. I will soon be selling it as I want to move up to a 125cc for the winter and something faster to get me used to faster riding as I wish to gain a full licence as I on a CBT at present. Only problem at mo is it is dead on the electric start although it kicks over ok and the battery is fully charged. Also the brake light does not come on when I pull the right leaver which is the same lever to pull in when electric starting. I have read pages on this forum and I will check the switch on the lever as some great soul stated... Thank you. Finally a big thank you for 4 months of perseverance with such an irritable little chinese ............. goes to Andy Stoker!! Thanks mate and I will be in touch soon about purchasing a new 2006 125cc scooter.
