Hello Everyone My mum has just bought me a baotian 50Qt - 9, from DirectBikes, so that I can get about when I start 6th form. Unfortunately on my first day out - the throttle went funny and stuck and the revs were going up and down, as were the mph. has anyone else had this? Mum has been in touch with Direct Bikes, who said its the fault of the motorcycle shop we took it too to get it assembled. Could this be right or could it have been faulty to begin with? They have offered to replace any faulty parts though. Also I noticed someone mention about the petrol gauge not working properly - I think this is also happening to mine too. I had what I thought was only half a tank and was pretty embarrassed when I could only get 20p worth in. Luckily the petrol assistant was very good about it. Are these normal niggly things that can happen with baotians or do I need to be worried. Incidently this is my first moped and am really excited to have one.

Welcome!
You need to download the service manual from the main page.
Take the front cover off and you will probably find a loose conection. Secondly the float and sender unit in the fuell tank may be faulty. The service manual will tell you how to check these things

HEY LOOBS!
I'm an old age NEWBIE and I reckon that you should forget the garages, by all accounts they don't wanna know with Chinese Scooters. I Just got a Boatian myself - Retro Styl-ee and I know booger all about engines, but the feed back and knowledge that I've found in ONE WEEK of posting here has given me the confidence to start fixing things myself!
Get that manual downloaded,... post some Q's here and there will ALWAYS be an answer for you here...... am I right people...c'mon! > > > >BTW I move house to Spain tomorrow,...it's 20 degrees #thumbs_up#
