Hello, I have just purchased a Baotain BT125 from e-bay, so far I'm pretty happy. I'm still running in for the first 300km so it's riding in the gutter for me for a while. Anyway I have a couple of questions if anyone can help please. 1). Am I right in thinking that the counter on my scooter is in kilometres NOT miles please? 2). Due to a broken thread on the engine casing, the nut that held the top support for the exhaust does not have a thread to go into now. I spoke to the supplier who is sending me the engine casing out to fit myself. Would anyone be able to give me any tips or any help whatsoever when I get round to replacing the casing please? at present the exhaust is being supported by the lower arm but I want to do the casing when I change the oil at 300kms. 3). Do I need to change the spark plug at 300kms oil change aswell? Thanks in advance for any help you can give, I am looking forward to carrying on scootering and getting up to the dizzy heights of 40mph +. Cheers

I've got the same bike, no problems with the spark plug at all, but get a good one if you want to change it, better spark is best.
Bike is in km's, but the speedo markings in mph are pretty easy to get used to. It's possible to get a small gearbox thing that fits on the speedo cable and changes both the speedo and odometer to miles, I was thinking about it at first, but I didn't bother, it doesn't take long to looking at the speed in MPH and the odometers in km's is useful anyway so you know when to service (1000km's )
The bike is not restricted, and is geared to do about 50 to 60 mph straight out of the box, but it takes a few miles to run the engine in first (probably only about 300km - first service time) before which the engine feels a bit tight.
Make sure you check and keep all bolts tight. Changing the engine oil and gear oil is really easy to get to for servicing.
The only mod I've done was to buy one of the Race CDI's from scooter assassins, it took seconds to fit and really makes the engine feel more progressive with power delivery (you don't get to go any faster, but the accelleration is more smooth)
I've been using mine for about 6 months and really enjoy it. Hope you enjoy yours too.

Hello, I'm another BT125 T9 owner, as r08813 say's keep those bolts tight! (one of my rear suspension bolts worked itself loose, & the other sheered off! ). Also make sure you check that the fuel pipe is routed properly as mine got trapped between the frame & the suspension & it split (cue petrol all over the back of the scoot ) Other than that I'm pretty happy with it (even though I just bought a Aprilia Leonardo cos its bigger), so it may get demoted to a backup bike! Anyway all the best. DD

Thanks Guys. Would anyone know the best spark plug to buy please? I went to Halfords with the part number, from the booklet I got with the bike, and they had never heard of the code/number. Any advice please!

Oh, Yes, when checking the fuel pipe, check the vacuum pipe that runs next to it, it can also get caught in the frame!! - worth investing in a cable tie or two!!

Hey, r08813
What CDI did you get from Scooter Assassins? Was it the red race CDI? A picture would be great.
Thanks
