Hi + welcome Jeremy, what Jinlun do you have? As far as spark plugs are concerned, change to an NGK C7HSA (standard Torch brand seems to be rubbish).......There are known potential starting problems such as badly adjusted fuel/air mixture, the HT lead may not even be connected to the spark plug, dirty carb(my JL50QT-4 had been built over a year before it came to me)...........This site and club members should be able to help with any problems you're likely to encounter ............. #sprint#

Hi,
It is a Jinlun JL50QT-5 color=red. Yesterday I bought a new spark and today or this weekend I give it a try. What moped store isn't selling is a tool to block the piston. Maybe I can get some kind of bold long enough to use as a piston blocker. Any tips to remove the vario without special tools?
The law here is stricter since 01-01 so I was thinking leave the pink wire alone and adjust the rollers and remove the vario ring. If its run 50-55 km/h and some acceleration improvement it would be fine by me.
Regards Jeremy

Beste is even een nieuwe bougie erin.

Hi, I bought the scooter like you from a salesman fitted already for 700 euri. They brass screw in the carburetor all people mention was still inside. Actually it was loose and was restricting more and more. So I took it out yesterday. I also have a new NGK plug now. Kind a scary to fit as its so tiny. yesterday it run 50 km/h with a cold engine maybe faster when its warmed up and you have a long cycle lane... It passed 300 km now so I have to change the oil for the first time. About holding the varioter this is a piaggio tool (to expensive!) but maybe Jinlun has it too? You can block it by using 2 bolts from the cover. Regards Jeremy

Nothing is as good as an impact wrench! Holding the piston could put to much stress on the crankshaft which could cause it to twist or even break

yeh,I agree with hypojam,if you can get an electric one, they sound great. I've got an old manual(hit it with a mallet) one,but didn't like having to smack it into the variator with the force required, didn't want to risk shattering the possibly brittle variator #sprint#

If you are looking for spare-parts for this scooter: you can ask for Kymco Filly, 90% of the parts in our scooter are the same as the Kymco Filly. Changing the oil is a peace of cake. For the gearbox oil you can best use an 'injectiespuit'. That works great. Gearboxoil: 2,95 euro for 150 ml at the scooter repairshop. Motoroil use 10W40.
