Hello all - I very wrongly posted on the Italian owners forum and was a little saddended with how they view my little boatian beauty! They don't know what they are missing - nothing wrong with Jap or Chinese things - right? So the deal is - I am a new scooter owner and rider and have a nice new boatian XT sport - an auto, derestricted ... I've been riding the little blue bomber (called Wilma) to work and back for the last week and am well happy - except that she seems to lose speed going up hill ... I think I still have to run her in some more to get the top speed - but again - am not sure how long I should do this for - and if I should be opening the throttle up all the way in the meantime either! Can't help it - it's so GOOOOOOOOD to be out there! (except today - it was a little too chilly for my liking!) So any pointers, tips etc to do with Wilma will be appreciated! ;D Also - does anyone else have the problem of the speedo cable shearing off where it attaches to the front wheel?

Hi, here in the netherlands they don't know the Baotian Scooter very well. You don't see them much on the road. You have to run in your bike for about 500 km. You'll notice that it will run faster and faster. Don't drive full throttle all the time and change oil at 300 km. If you want to improve your uphill speed, you can install some lighter rollers. I wouldn't do this before running in the bike. greetings mark

Hi and welcome aboard Angela.
Good to see another woman on here!
Glad your enjoying your new scooter, I also ride mine to work and back, it's so cheap and so much fun!
Post some pics of you and your bike in the showroom section, You'll find most people have their scoot pictured in there!

Post pics of me on my bike - LOL! Just laughing coz of how you have to wrap up when you ride - I'm not recognisable! Which thinking about my skills on Wilma - may be a good idea! LOL! The other half rides a midi moto thing and so do his mates - it's ultra cool to be the only one allowed to ride mine on the road to and from work - I'm still not quite brave enought o do the up the middle of the road thing - so prob look a little willy sitting in traffic! But hey - I paid my road tax and have as much right as four wheels right? Just waiting for my proper gloves and waterproofs to come then I'll start riding her again to and from work - I got soaked to the skin on Friday on the way home - not a happy puppy! Today I took the car and actually felt guilty! LOL! Think I've been bitten by the scooter bug!

I know what you mean, I've only just plucked up the courage to go up the middle of the road between the traffic, it does feel good though #groovin#
It's a good feeling when you get to where you are going in ten minutes, when you know if you had been in the car it would have taken 30!

Hello & welcome! I too have caught the scooter bug!-Bought mine back in September. I rode it to work every day & loved every minute. But alas, living in a northern climate, winter was bound to rear its ugly head & banish my poor scooter to the shed. Now I have to drive my Jeep through the snows. There have been a couple of mild days that I could break my scoot of out of the shed & go for a ride, but not many. I can't wait for March to get here & bring some scooter weather back to town! Welcome aboard! as the chief always says. You will find lots of friends here!

Welcome Angela. This is a great site, I've only just joined as well. This is the other side of bikes/scootering. The club atmosphere that you'd never get from owning a car! Ride safely.
