Good to see another Scotsman on the site. I live in Dunfermline and use the scoot to commute to Edinburgh, so if you happen to see a red Honda Dylan heading over the Forth Bridge that will be me !

Phil.....someone at the Internet Bike Shop mentioned this forum, they were really helpful with tech help (including de-restriction)
drzoom(?) how far do you commute? I'm only 10 miles each way,but I'll wait for better weather before I use my scoot :-)

I travel from central Dunfermline, down through Rosyth, over the Forth Bridge and into central Edinburgh (I work for Jenners on Prince Street). It's a round trip of about 32miles.
I use the scoot almost daily from March until late December. I rarely use the bike during January and February as the weather is too unpredictable. The BBC Weather site is great for planning your trip as it gives hour by hour forecasts. Looking ahead to the coming week for instance the icy days are to be repalced by.....high winds and rain...fantastic !! Ice, snow, high winds or very heavy rain are all weathers I avoid, anything else is fine.

I would'nt fancy your journey on my 50, do you come into edinburgh via crammond brig, barnton(I noticed the barnton thistle's closed down) ,maybury etc? Aye,we've had some chilly windy stuff flung at us recently, -6.4 has been the coldest I've noticed in my garden recently, my scoot still started with a couple of kicks :-).......Hopefully I'll be able to put a few Ks on the clock soon............ #emot114#

Yeah I come straight along the A90 and past the Barnton. The hotel has been shut for a while now and is gradually being demolished by the local vandals ! I don't tend to go via the Maybury but just carry on straight past the Barnton and right into town.
My first scoot was a 50cc Bajaj, I did the run to Edinburgh several times in the couple of months I had it, never thought anything of it. Looking back now it was a pretty dangerous thing to do as the bike was seriously underpowered for a trip on those roads, and the quality of the tyres was a bit suspect too. You live and learn....with a bit of luck !
