Hi There I've joined this forum from 'pre-loved' (thanks Phil) My daughter (16) & passed CBT would like a QT-11 (Barbie Pink!!) Read loadsa stuff on 'pre-loved' forum but very confused as to whether its a good idea to buy one or not. Speed seems to be a prob, so does fuel gauge, not to mention the assembling of parts ie.wheels when it arrives!! Can anyone tell me (if buying via ebay) how much assembly is required??Think I've got the insurance sussed (3rd party only)...lost the will to live yesterday by phoning & emailing various companies (most didn't recognise the model on their system) Tried Lexham (£185) Wilsons (£201) Norwich Union (£387)Flux (wont do QT-11) Bennetts (cant find make or model) ebikeinsurance (£243) MCE (£300) MCD (£269)...phew!! Oh & how difficult is it to register scooter at DVLA??Appreciate any thoughts on all above dilemas!! Cheers!

Righty, my first piece of advice would be to buy your scooter from a company on eBay called theinternetbikeshop Write theinternetbikeshop into the search box via the link below and it'll bring up all their bikes for sale: search.ebay.co.uk/ws/search/AdvSearch?sofindtype=8The reason I say this is because they can register the bike for you (for a small charge) which will take a lot of potential hassle away. Some people on this forum have gone to their local DVLA office and registered their scooter quite easily while many others including myself had no end of trouble. It took me a month to finally get my Taishan Commuter registered. Now onto the bikes themselves. Assembly should be really easy, just a case of fitting the mirrors & battery. The good thing about this forum is to learn from other peoples mistakes. Basically for about £500 you can't go wrong, don't be put off too much by all the horror stories that you hear as there's no reason why these bikes won't last for years plus because it's brand new you won't need an MOT for three years.

i bought by bt50qt11 through the now defunct tradeimportsuk, there was hardly any assembly (adjust handlebars, fit battery, fit top box) i got my insurance through lexham at £185, when registering through the dvla make sure you tell them its a 49cc road scooter and don't leave without it registered.
