my 125cc Taishan keeps shredding drive belts. I've had the variator off many times, fitted new weights 14 grams. checked the clutch, cleaned the faces of the pulleys even removed the whole kick start mechanism to ensure nothing is touching the belt. Yet the belt shreds, usually on my commute into London. The last time right on the Marble Arch one way system, very convenient. The first sign of impending disaster is the smell of burning rubber, then about a mile or so later the belt goes. The last belt purchased from Parts for Scooters in the USA lasted about 60 miles and the previous belt went after 200 miles. The original lasted approx. 1500 miles. All belts came from the same manufacturer Zhuping 842-20-30 I am considering replacing the clutch assembly, the variator assembly and the belt in other words the whole drive system in order to overcome this problem as I need the bike to get to work. Anyone got any ideas, before I get into more costs. Regards Roddy
