I bought some Mobil Super S for my scooter - problem is, I can't get the damn bolt open! I tried quite a few tricks to get it off, but NO. It's stuck! After few days of frustration, I finally went to the store and bought heavy duty jaw lock pliers. Now I'm starting to really get desperate, since the bolt is so well stuck, it feels like it's welded on. Every time I try to open it, I only manage to get some metall off the bolt, but it won't move at all.
If I could borrow blowtorch and get something to freeze it quickly, that might do the trick..unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has blowtorch nor if it's a good idea to heat the bolt that's connected to a pool of oil.
Any suggestions?

You would be better off using an impact driver with a socket on it. A few firm taps with a hammer on the end should see it undone. It may be worth replacing this bolt if it's starting to get chewed up. This will help you next time.
If you need to heat the metal up, you shouldnt heat the bolt, just the alloy arround it. Dont use a naked flame like a blowtorch. An electric hot air gun as used for stripping paint is much safer. Make sure your petrol tank is well out of the way though.

Yes, I will definately be replacing the bolt, I'm sure by know it has lost all will to live after all the abuse I've put it through.
Impact wrench had no contact to it, since the former owner had already done his part of beating the bolt - guess that's the biggest reason I'm having problems with it right now. Only way to have any contact to it is using something "heavier", like jaw lock pliers. You can tell now the contact is very good, since it's making the bolt loose metal..
..I've tried hammering it a bit. I do have heat gun, guess I'll give it a try. I thought one is supposed to heat the bolt and fast freeze it, that's supposed to "scare" the metal and make it easier to remove? If I heat the metal surrounding it, it's just going to expand and make removing the bolt even harder..?

Now that I think about it, blowtorch does seem somewhat extreme ..what I've heard is, at shops they just weld the stuck bolt and fast freeze it, after that the bolt will come off almost by itself.

try it with a warm engine Only way to warm it up at the moment is indeed hot air gun, since it's not even running. Think I'll have to sit out till I get the valves and now the bolt too. I just figured it to be good idea to change the oil now and let it run for few kilometers and after that change it again; the oil running currently inside is black and full of dirt. The dirt is visible to the eye, which makes the oil change immediately crucial

You could tilt the bike over & let it drain out the oil check. It probably wont get all the dirt out, but it will be a good short term fix.

Too obvious, I suppose, but big THANKS! ;D ;D ;D Think I'll be doing this tomorrow, unless taking off old paint and rust from the exhaust takes whole day. I bought metalpaint, that's supposed to stick even if the metal heats up enough to turn red. The paint is made for saunas metalparts, should last nearly forever in scooter use

And ? Problem solved ? I'm having the same problem, but with the transmission oil, the bolt to drain the oil just won't come off, and now the bolt is useless. Tomorrow we'll buy some better gear, and if it still doesn't come off, than we'll just have to call the importer to pick it up and repair it. First time ever to work on a scooter, and probably last time .

Hang in there The same technique works on the transmission oil. My transmission oil drain bolt refuses to come out. Had to employ the tip method
