i have got a hongdu 125cc.. it does around 65mph tops and doesnt seem to want to move any quicker. if any1 would be able to tell me how to derestrict it i would be very grateful. or just tell me where the restricters are found. thanks -- peter

Getting 65mph out of a 4 stroke 125 is what you would expect. Most of the branded commuters. Suzuki, yamaha etc are all at the 65-70mph mark so you are actually getting a good top speed.
There is no way you can make it faster before you ask because it's a four stroke. If you want a faster bike go and buy a 2 stroke 125cc sports replica.

It's not as much about it being a four stroke, as it is it being a scooter equipped with variator. If it was say, enduro with chaindrive, you could change the gear ratio to make it go faster. Since the scooter is based on variator the ratio is way harder to change - though possible. Easiest way to make it go faster, is replacing the current variator with speed variator. Problem is, I don't know if they manufacture one for baotian 125cc scooters or if generic parts fit in..if there even are generic parts.
