well we were all new at it at some time.
My experience of my bike and the help from the forum took it from a 25-30mph to a 40-50mph bike.
I put 4.9 gm rollers in - now revs properly Put a NGK plug - big big difference put about 200kms on the bike and checked the valve clearances - once loosened up they do seem to suddenly go alot better. I tried a slightly shorter Drive Face Boss but I wouldnt waste my time mucking about with that with all the potential problems it can cause for very little gain.
If I want to go faster my next modification will be a complete change of the bike to a 125cc!!!

Fimaks,
Check out the 'Engine Derestriction Guide' in this forum .... it's superb, I'm only 3 days into Scooter ownership and knew nothing about them technically but this guide and this site has had be surprised at how much I've done so far (Derestricting, removing Carb Bolt, resetting carb washer, changing to NGK spark plug, etc).....
The guides on here show you how to do it all...
I agree with bondingi though - a 50cc scoot is a 50cc scoot and there is a limit to how far you can stretch things.... I'm going to keep mine in good order with regards to Valve Clearances and stuff like that but as to other modifications I think I'll just wait until I can upgrade to a 125cc, rather than modify my little BT50 too optimistically!
