Hey all, Has anyone cut the end off of there exhaust yet?(just the nipple) to open it up I read that it will increase the performance by allowing more air to flow out . My scooter salesmen has one in his showroom on one of his scooters dmilo

A quicker way (but a little more heavy handed) is to get a metal spike of the correct size and put it down your silencer and give it a whack with a large hammer. Used this method on old two strokes when working in a bike shop on blocked tail pipes. Crude but effective.

HMM I was going to hack off the nipple and bore out a bigger hole will think about it and do some research what performance benefits will there be besides the noise dmilo

I probably wouldnt use the spike on a chinky scoot as the materials might not be up to the whack. Open it up and see whats inside you might be able to make the hole bigger or remove some baffles or something. I reckon it would not make a lot of difference apart from more noise.

:owell i treid that trick when i had the old exhaust on the 4stroke and inside is just a long lil pipe that queits the noise. i know my exhuast idea isnt for everyone but since i added this yet it sounds like a motorbike(80cc) on the line it gets more power gains and at times gets you up to speed faster sometimes i gotten 52..but thats only if im on that new black pavement which i dont understand how that makes a difference. I also added this with a 90 jet. its that thing from those cheap butt turbos on ebay that dont work so i made use of the air peice somehow. the bike starts good and it idles great..if your the type that likes sound and performance..hey go for it.

I hacked and slashed my old exhaust, didn't help performance atall...
Its best to keep some back pressure in the exhaust i thinks

I pay £335 for me and the wife fully comp on our 1.8 16v Vectra. I got 3 points too!
Mind you when your young they try and charge you the earth. My first car was a 1.6 Cavalier GLS I paid £500 for it. The insurance, TPFT, was around £800.
Here's a good tip, find a woman who can drive, and get her to insure your car, get yourself on as a named driver. It works out cheaper to insure a woaman than it does a bloke.

Insurance prices for new drivers is extreme! Although when you compare what I'm paying to some of my friends I'm getting a bargain Mines Third Party Fire & Theft
