Derestricting - problem with carb needle

I tried to follow great guide by Ginger Phil but I ran into a problem.
My carb needle doesn't look like one described in the guide.
My needle doesn't have any washers - it is made of one single solid piece and it doesn't have those grooves on it.
Could someone be so kind and post exact length of:
- complete needle
- length from restricted washer position down to pointed end
- length from derestricted washer position down to pointed end

Hopefully this info will give me some idea on how to derestrict my ride (I plan on putting few washers on needle but I need some basic idea on how much I should "raise" needle position).

Hopefully, adding more fuel and more air will solve my real problem.
The real problem is that I bought this scooter to use it around my house by the sea.
Last weekend I finally got chance to go there and try my scooter around - WHAT A DISASTER - there is a short but pretty steep part of the road which proved to be major problem for my scooter.
Poor thing can't make it to the top, I have to use full throttle and push it.

I REALLY hope that derestricting it will help.

dont worry about your needle i have the same kind just remove the brass screw on the black plastic cover, Upjetting the carburettor will help aswell

I'll just have to wait for 2 weeks to go there

scoot is in my house by the sea and I won't be going there for next 2 weeks

The needle needs to be raised by about 2-3mm. The best way to get you up that hill is to put lighter rollers in the drive variator. You should do the derestriction first.

It is a great guide!
Everything you described it dead accurate and I did it in 5 mins flat ... err, except for that carb needle
Then I went back to your guide and I figured out that what I need to do is to raise that needle.
But I didn't know how much to raise it.
I tried various settings and ended up nowhere.
Once I was so close that I only needed to put my left foot to the ground and I made it up the hill but then I tried to raise it even more and I flooded engine so I had to push the scoot up that hill
Anyway, this forum rules and I am sure that, with the little help from all of you, I'll be riding that hill pretty soon and I'll ride it in style
